The original stone is bright and natural, the green is clear, the gloss is strong, the reflection is bright, and the surrounding part is in a gradual relationship. The false original stone is gray and unnatural, the green direction is irregular, the gloss is weak, the reflection is dark, and the relationship with the surrounding part is completely different.
Engraving: Use a knife or a hardness pen to score and measure the hardness. The surface of the original stone is dense and solid, with high hardness, Mohs hardness, and no sand-graining phenomenon. The surface of the original rough stone is evacuated, soft, and the Mohs hardness is less than that.
Knocking: Listen to the sound with a hard object. The original stone, compact structure, solid, sound crisp, the same as the surrounding sound of the original fake stone, the structure is soft, the sound is dull, and the sound around the up and down.
Touch: Touch by hand to distinguish. The original stone feels smooth and the grain does not peel off. The fake stone feels hard and the grain has sand falling.
Burning: Burn in an electric stove, alcohol lamp or hot water with boiling water. True stone, odorless, no smoke, no discoloration of fake stone, odor, smoke, discoloration.
Test: Generally measured by gem microscope, polarized microscope or polarizer, pycnometer, hardness pen, refractometer, dichroic mirror, color filter, spectroscope, fluorescent lamp, etc., when further research is needed, infrared spectrometer, Raman spectrometer, Modern instrumentation such as X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, electron probe and scanning electron microscope.
