International Wool Textile Organization Wool Round Table Forum was held in Guangzhou on November 24-26. Peter Ackroyd, Chairman of International Wool Textile Organization, Executive Board Member of International Wool Textile Organization, and Chairman of China Wool Textile Industry Association Peng Yanli attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting deepened exchanges and discussions on the important issues concerning the development of the wool textile industry in the current situation. Representatives from China and other countries introduced the new situation and new hot spots in the wool and wool textile industry in China and the world respectively, including the evaluation of the sustainable development of wool textile industry, New standards on the impact of the wool industry and countermeasures, wool marketing and other issues. Nearly 80 industry representatives from 10 countries attended the meeting. In recent years, the issue of environmental protection has become a key issue affecting the development and upgrading of the textile industry. In 2012, the International Wool Textile Organization set up a working group on sustainable development, focusing on research and development of the wool life cycle research project. The project brings together experts and industry authorities in China, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Italy, New Zealand and other countries and regions. Currently The first phase of progress has been made and the first green statement of wool is released. The life cycle assessment of the wool ranch production phase is nearing completion and the related report is expected to be published next year. As an important part of the wool industry, the carbon footprint and water footprint tracking and evaluation of the wool processing industry in China will be the next important work for the wool life cycle project. Through its active communication with international organizations and experts, the Central Mao Chinese Association has actively carried out its work in the country. With the cooperation between China's wool industry and the world's wool industry, the research on sustainable development of wool is expected to make more and better progress and promote the win-win development of the industry. The marketing and popularization of wool is also the challenge for the development of the current industry. As a kind of natural fiber, the proportion of wool in fiber processing volume in the global textile industry has been shrinking day by day, and the wool has been fiercely competed by other fibers. Therefore, the wool industry must unite to face the challenge of the industrial chain and the terminal market. Internationally, the International Wool Textile Organization and the International Wool Bureau carry out many project activities. In China, the organizations and enterprises such as the Central Mao Association and Hengyuanxiang are also actively planning for the consumption of wool products. Especially in Britain, the wool movement, which is supported and initiated by Prince Charles of Great Britain, has now been in its fourth year and will continue as a long-term activity. The wool movement has now been extended worldwide to promote the excellence of wool products to consumers all over the world.
