Chemical Fiber Industry Excessive Competition, Cooperation, Development and Feasibility

The 20th China International Chemical Fibre Conference (Xiaoshan 2014) hosted by the China Textile Industry Federation, China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, China Textile International Exchange Center and Xiaoshan District Government was held in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang. The theme of the conference was "To promote the sustainable development of the chemical fiber industry through innovation and industrial chain cooperation." Xu Kunyuan, honorary president of the China Textile Industry Federation, and Gao Yong, vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation attended the meeting. Duan Xiaoping, President of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, Jiang Shicheng, Zhou Guotai, Yao Mu, and Yu Jianyong, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the meeting.

China's chemical fiber industry has fallen into a low position in economic development both at home and abroad in recent years. It has reviewed and rethought the problems in the industrial structure, product structure, and business philosophy left behind in the past development process, and sought for a change in the development model. The current stage of excess production capacity has exposed blindly the drawbacks of the pursuit of economies of scale, and the change in development environment and trends has provided opportunities for cooperation and win-win.

The experts attending the meeting explained the significance of cooperation in the current environment from various aspects such as technological innovation, brand building, and product marketing. With regard to technological innovation, under the premise of technological innovation as the general direction, technological progress will continue to extend the industrial chain, the market will be more detailed, and all parties in the industrial chain need to integrate resources in order to ensure their position and competitiveness in the market. In particular, through strategic alliances, chemical fiber companies have more opportunities to get closer to the end market, establish a faster and smoother R&D and marketing system that responds to market demands, realize rapid industrialization of products, and increase product added value.

In terms of brand building, the multi-stakeholder cooperation with the same goal can use the cooperative thinking to integrate the industrial chain into the value chain and maximize the influence of independent brands through the alliance.

In terms of product marketing, with the support of technology and brands, with the upgrading of the economy and chemical fiber industry in the world, companies need to integrate more resources and cooperate in higher-end areas in order to facilitate a more global deployment. This is directly reflected in the development strategy of "going out" companies.

During the conference, four special forums such as “High-performance Fiber and Automotive Fiber Technology Forum”, “Brand and Value Forum”, “Thermal Fiber Technology Forum” and “Environment-Friendly Fiber Technology Forum” were held and Teijin Fiber Technology "Special field", "Special field of advanced technology in the field of fiber", "Advanced Vinylon technology" and other multi-field exchanges. In addition, the conference also held a "new trend of chemical fiber new products show docking special." The organizer presented more than 70 expert lectures and guest interviews for participants during the two days of the event.

The China International Chemical Fiber Conference has been held for 20 consecutive years since its establishment. In the context of the profound reform of the Chinese economy and chemical fiber industry, the theme of the conference was the focus of the industry. National Development and Reform Commission, National Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce, National Standardization Management Committee, China Fiber Inspection Bureau, China Textile Industry Association Professional Industry Association leaders and from the European Union, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, China Nearly 600 representatives from global fiber industry, industrial chain, academic research institutions, consulting companies and traders, including Hong Kong and China Taiwan, attended the meeting.
